What is in your cup?

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and shoves you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee?

"Well because someone bumped into me, of course!"

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because coffee was in the cup.

If tea had been in it, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will come out.

Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which will happen), whatever is inside of you will come out.
It's easy to fake it until you get rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves....what's in my cup?

When life gets tough, what spills over?

Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility?
Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and actions?

You choose!

Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation to yourself and others, kindness, gentleness, and love..
Have a fulfilling life.

Woman - Maya Angelau

Loved this poem of Maya Angelou -thought of sharing...15 points

1)"A WOMAN SHOULD  HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to...
……..
2)A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a youth she's content to leave behind....

3)A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....
………..

4)A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...
………..
5)A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a feeling of control over her destiny...

6)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..

7)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without; ruining the friendship...

8)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

9)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

10)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect..but its over...

11)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

12)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

13)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

14)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...

15)EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

Pl pass this msg to all good women u know😊

True Gardener

Had tears running down when I read this?

Read on.....

He was watering the plants in the posh gardens of an International school, heat and dust didn't seem to affect him.

*"Ganga Das, Principal Ma'am wants to see you -- right now"...*

The last two words of the peon had lots of emphasis on them, trying to make it sound like an urgency.

He quickly got up, washed and wiped his hands and headed towards the  Principal's chamber.

The walk from the garden to the office seemed never ending, his heart was almost jumping out of his chest.
He was trying all the permutation and combination, figuring out as to what has gone wrong that she wants to see him urgently...

He was a sincere worker and never shirked from his duties...
knock knock...

"Madam, you called me?"
"Come inside..." an authoritative voice made him further nervous...

Salt n pepper hair, tied neatly in a french knot, a designer sari-sober and very classic, glasses resting on the bridge of her nose...
She pointed out towards a paper kept on the table...
"Read this"...

"B..but Ma'am I am an illiterate person.
I can not read English.
Ma'am please forgive me if I have done anything wrong... give me another chance...
I am forever indebted to you for allowing my daughter to study in this school, free of cost... I could have never ever dreamt of such a life for my child.."
And he broke down almost trembling:

"Hold on, you assume a lot...we allowed your daughter because she is very bright and you have been our sincere worker.. Let me call a teacher in, she will read it out and translate it to you... this is written by your daughter and I want you to read this."

Soon enough the teacher was called and she started reading it, translating each line in Hindi...

It read-

"Today we are asked to write about Mother's Day.

I belong to a village in Bihar, a tiny  village where medical and education still seem like a far fetched dream. Many women die every now and then while giving birth. My mother was one of them too, she could not even hold me in her arms. My father was the first person to hold me.. or perhaps the only person.
Everyone was sad.. as I was a girl and I had "eaten up" my own mother.
My dad was instantly asked to remarry but he refused.
My grandparents forced him by giving all logical, illogical and emotional reasons but he didn't budge.
My grand parents wanted a grandson, they threatened him to remarry or else he will be disowned...

He didn't think twice... he left everything, his acres of land.. a good living, comfortable house, cattles and everything that counts for a good lifestyle in a village.

He came to this huge city with absolutely nothing -- but me in his arms. Life was tough, he worked hard day and night.. raised me with tender love and utmost care.

Now I understand why suddenly he developed a dislike for things that I would love to eat when there was only one piece left in the platter.... he would say that he hates eating it and I would finish it considering that he does not like it.... but as I grew older I realised the reason and what sacrifice is all about.
He gave me the best possible comforts  beyond his capacity.

This school gave him a shelter, respect and the biggest gift -- an admission to his daughter...
If love and care  defines a mother... then my father fits in there.
If compassion defines a mother, my father fits in well in that category too...
If sacrifice defines a mother, my father dominates that category.
So in nut shell.. if a mother is made of love, care sacrifice and compassion...
MY FATHER IS THE BEST MOTHER ON EARTH THEN.

On Mother's Day, I would like to wish my father for being the best parent on earth... I salute him and say it with pride that the hardworking gardener working in this school is my father.
I know I may fail this test after my teacher reads this -- but this would be a very small price one would pay towards an ode to the selfless love of my father.

There was a deafening silence in the room... one could only hear soft sobbing of Ganga Das....
The harsh sun could not wet his clothes with sweat but soft words of his daughter had soaked his chest with tears.... he was standing there with hands folded..

He took the paper from teacher's hands... held it close to his heart and sobbed.

Principal got up.. offered him a chair, glass of water and said something... but, strangely the crispness of her voice was taken over by a surprising warmth and sweetness....

"Ganga Das.. your daughter is given 10/10 marks for this essay... This is the best essay ever written about Mother's Day in the history of this school. We are having the Mother's Day gala event tomorrow and the entire School Management has decided to invite you as the Chief Guest for the event...
This is to honour all the love and sacrifice a man can do to raise his children... to show that you do not have to be a woman to be the perfect parent...

And most importantly this is to reinforce/appreciate/acknowledge the strong belief of your daughter in you, to make her feel proud.. to make the entire school feel proud that we have the best parent on earth as stated by your daughter."

"You are a True Gardner, who is not only looking after the gardens, but also nurturing the most precious flower of your life in such a beautiful way...."

"So Ganga Das, will you be our Chief Guest for the event?

You are not a drop in the ocean but an ocean in every drop.

You are not a drop in the ocean but an ocean in every drop...said Rumi.

What did he mean by that... every cell in our body is intelligent to think and act.. We have 60 trillion cells in our body and our health depends a lot on the harmonic balance and cohesion of the cells with each other...

In the movie Eat, Pray Love, Julia Roberts visits a wise man in Bali, and he advises her not to try too hard to meditate.. in fact he suggests that meditation is nothing but smiling and the line that is a kicker, is "Smile with your liver"

If you believe that this is just a metaphor, lets look at the other end of the spectrum to prove just how crucial this is..

Let us say you hold a negative emotion towards somebody, something or some event in your life... each time you think of that your whole body re-lives the emotional upheaval of that association..

Your mind doesn't have a mind of its own, and doesn't know if the event is happening in real time or it is being replayed.. so it produces the same stress hormones.. each and every cell of your body starts feeling the same emotion of let us say "hatred" towards that event, person or experience all over again...

The body is not at ease.. this is a state where the condition of dis-ease sets in....

If you continue to live in that state, your cells are now getting conditioned to live in the same state...

The Upanishads talk about "Yatha Pinde tatha Brahmande" as is the atom so is the universe....

Health of a person, depends on how well all the systems of the body and the 60 trillion cells play the melody of harmony together..

When the cells are living in a state of hatred, they soon start exhibiting that with each other and killing healthy cells in the body...This leads to many forms of auto immune disease...

Like Rumi said.. you are not a drop in the ocean, you are an ocean in every drop...

Be careful of your thoughts, your feelings and your emotions...

Forgive people, not because they deserve it, but because YOU need it... 😊🙏😊

Five secrets to Happiness- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Five Secrets to Happiness';Sri Sri Ravi Shankar- Once a wise man drew a line on a board and told his student to make the line shorter without touching or erasing it. How would you do it? You have to shorten a line without touching it. The intelligent one (referring to the student) then drew a much longer line underneath that line. So, the line automatically became shorter. The lesson here is that if your difficulties appear to be very big, lift your eyes because you are only focused on yourself. If you lift your eyes up and look at those who are in a worse condition than you, you will suddenly feel that your burden is not as bad as you thought it was. If you think you have some big problem, look at people who have a greater problem. Suddenly, you will get a confidence that my problem is much smaller, and I can manage it. So, the first point on how to be happy is to see the world where there are greater and bigger problems. Then, your problems will appear smaller. The moment your problems appear smaller, you will get the energy and confidence to deal with it or solve it. In simple words, serve those who are in greater need. Second, look at your own life. In the past, you had many problems. They have all come and gone. Know that even this will go and you do have the energy and power to overcome it. You will get self-confidence by understanding and looking at your own past. Third, and most important, do some breathing exercise and relaxation. Fourth, do you know, in anger we say, ‘I give up’. Without frustration or anger say, ‘I give this problem up, I cannot solve it, let the Divine help me.’ And know that you will always be helped. Have the confidence that you will be helped; a power in the universe is going to help you. The fifth one – what do you think is the fifth one? I leave it to you. You think about the fifth one. I can go on up to twenty-five or thirty (points), but I would like you to come up with it. We are always looking for solutions from someone. We forget that if we turn our mind inward, we can get some idea, some solution. This is the fifth one. Spontaneity! Be spontaneous. Spontaneity will come when you take a few minutes to go deep within yourself. There is nothing great in smiling when everything is normal, and when everything is going the way you want. But if you awaken the valor inside of you, and say, ‘Come what may, I am going to keep smiling’, you will notice tremendous energy, just rise from within you. And the problem is like nothing; it just comes and disappears.

Real life is beyond academic domains.

Real Life is beyond any academic domains, Let children choose the life they love.

Ramasamy completed B.tech and joined a MNC during Campus Recruitment. CTC 4 lakhs. His Relatives & Family friends wished him success. Ramasamy's face glowed like Petramax light. He thought  to himself " From today onwards every day will be happy."

Madasamy, Ramasamy's neighbor  failed BA. All his relatives & family friends blamed him. In Hyderabad every one is a B.tech but Madasamy was not even BA! Madasamy received suggestions to eke out a living by selling Idly, Dosa….   Pan ...or sell Milk…  His Father was much embarrassed.
Now what to do…?
Madasamy asked his mother ₹ 2 lakhs and borrowed ₹2 lakhs from an uncle, bought buffaloes and started Milk Business.

Ramasamy used his credit card to purchase a motorcycle , commuting each day to office. Madasamy on TVS with Milk Cans also started to sell. Ramasamy proudly said ‘Hi" to Madasamy. Madasamy with embarrassed look muttered Hi . & each attended to their  respective duties.

6 months passed .....
Ramasamy re-paid 20%  of the motorcycle purchase money. He still  had to repay ₹80K. Madasamy cleared ₹1 lakh out of his ₹2lakh borrowed money. When Both  met Ramasamy gave a small smile ,thinking of his debt of 80K. Madasamy also smiled reminiscing about his remaining loan of ₹ 1 lakh

1 year passed by....
Ramasamy had high hopes on a salary hike. Suddenly due to recession company mailer informed all employees of no hike. half liter of milk increased  in price to ₹14/-from ₹10/-.This profited Madasamy by 30% and helped him pay the remaining₹ 1 lakh loan amount.
By now, with difficulty Ramasamy cleared his Bike loan and took a personal loan of ₹2 lakhs @ 16% interest. Ramasamy bought furniture, LCD, LapTop with loan money. Every One applauded Ramasamy as he  had purchased these accessories in just 2 years time. Now Madasamy with his business profits  bought 12 more buffaloes. His income doubled.

Again both met. Ramasamy gave feeble smile thinking about his Persoal loan. Madasamy gave a big smile since he was debt free.
After 2  more Years Ramasamy got a 10% salary hike. He then bought a Maruti  Wagon R car through  a Car Loan. Mean time Madasamy bought 2 acres land for his 3 dozen buffaloes. Milk Prices increased by 30% again. Now Madasamy was earning  200% more than Ramasamy. Madasamy owned one Auto to sell Milk.
Once more both faced met. With Loans and  accruing Interest Ramasamy was unable to smile. g Madasamy smiled  merrily driving his own Auto.

2 more years passed
Ramasamy applied for ₹40 lakhs home loan and bought an apartment. Madasamy's buffaloes numbered 126. Madasamy bought 2 apartments. Ramasamy got 10 more percent salary hike. Milk price crossed ₹ 40per liter now. Total income of Madasamy was 500 times that of Ramasamy.
Madasamy owned 1 Skoda and 1 Innova Car. Both met again
Ramasamy grimaced struggling to clear ₹40 lakh loan.
Madasamy smiled ear to ear since he owned a medium sized Milk Factory with more than 170 buffaloes and 25 workers.

That night Ramasamy was in deep frustration. Because after 5 years Madasamy owned ₹4 crores , had a monthly  income of 5 lakhs  & provided jobs to 25 workers.   Ramasamy's salary is 7 lakhs  p a with ₹40 lakhs debt & unbearable job dissatisfaction This was the Balance Sheet.

Facts: In 2008 Milk was ₹10/- litre. Now ₹40/- litre. Gold ₹12500/- 10 grams, Now ₹30000/-.  In the last 5 years salary hikes for software professionals was just 30%.  All commodity prices increased by 300%. Still most Indian parents think engineering is the only worthwhile profession for their wards.

What will we be remembered for?

Alfred Nobel.....Very Interesting Story...

Can you imagine reading your own obituary in the newspaper?

What would people say about you?

Alfred Nobel got the chance to read his own death notice, and he didn’t like what he saw.

Alfred Nobel was a very wealthy and successful man. He had become an expert in chemistry and invented three of the most commonly used explosives in the world - dynamite, gelignite (used in mining) and ballistite, which is still used as a rocket propellant today.

With the huge fortune he made from these inventions, Nobel bought an engineering company called Bofors and turned it into an arms manufacturer.

He made another enormous fortune designing cannons and guns and selling them around the world.

Then, in 1888, Alfred’s brother died while visiting France.
A French newspaper thought it was Alfred who had died and they published an obituary that began like this:

THE MERCHANT OF DEATH IS DEAD
Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday….

Alfred Nobel was shocked. Was this what people thought of him? Was this the legacy he would leave to the world?

That’s when he decided to use his vast wealth to make a positive difference.

Nobel set up a foundation with $250 million dollars in funding. Every year the
foundation would consult the leading experts in the world and hand out prizes to people who had made great contributions to humanity.

There would be prizes for sciences, for literature, and for promoting peace.

Today the Nobel Prizes are probably the best known and most prestigious awards in the world.

They have been awarded to great scientists, authors and activists and helped draw attention to many outstanding works and worthy causes.
Nobel set up his foundation in 1895: just in time to influence his own obituary.
He died only a year later.

The Nobel Prizes accomplished his wish; they created a very different legacy for him than a reputation as “The Merchant of Death.” He is not remembered as an explosives inventor or arms dealer, but as one of the greatest philanthropists of all time.

He is also a great example of how it is never too late to CHANGE your life and help make the world a better place.

What will we be remembered for?

Stories of resurrection from failure - Ninad Vengurlekar

Read this.. It will make your day.. Fully motivational.

By Ninad Vengurlekar

In a life connected to smartphones, I believe youngsters need a reality check about what real life is, what success is, and how it can be achieved. What happens on social media is virtual, but what you do with your life is real. Moving your fingers is far easier than rolling up your sleeves and getting to work. This difference needs to be understood.

When youngsters are depressed and feel suicidal, they are thinking of their life in short term. They believe that their life is going to end up being what it is today - forever. But that is far from truth. When you are depressed at 20, you forget that you will be alive for the next 60 years. If you lose 2 years to depression - what the heck! You still have 58 years to resurrect yourself.

Here are 4 examples that come to my mind of people who resurrected themselves out of failure -

Remember the guy who was slapped by people on a railway station for picking Sunil Dutt's wallet in Munnabhai MBBS? That was Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nawaz graduated from NSD and was forced to work as a cook and a security guard because he had no work and no money. How many of you are willing to do that as a part of your struggle to succeed? Did he feel depressed about it then? So what did he do? And where is he today?

Nawaaz kept trying. Trying hard. Finally a casting director suggested his name to Sujoy Ghosh, who was directing Kahaani. Sujoy himself was battling 2 flops while making Kahaani. He offered Nawaz an important role of an IB official. Nawaaz got a small opportunity to make it big in Bollywood. After years of failure, he precisely knew what that small opening could do for his career. And boy did he deliver? For his role in Kahaani, Nawaaz walked away with a National Award. That was the beginning. Today he is perhaps the rare few actors in Bollywood who has worked with all the three Khans in a span of 3 years. He makes crores and lives like a King. Failure was the foundation of Nawaz's success.

In 2007 World Cup, when India was knocked out of the WC Qualifiers, Sachin Tendulkar cried in the dressing room. He announced to many of his fellow cricketers that he wants to retire. Sachin lost his nerve when faced with such a colossal failure, for the first time in his life. He probably feared coming back to India and facing his fans, friends, and family.

Vivian Richards got to know about Sachin's state of mind. He called and spoke to him for 1 hour. An invigorated Sachin went back to his rigorous training. In the next 5 years, he reached 100 centuries, became the highest run getter in Test and ODIs, won the World Cup and had millions of people crying for him when he retired at Wankhede. He got a send-off no cricketer has ever had in the history of the game. He became a legend because he refused to bow down to failure. A chat with someone who Sachin respected and idolised, turned around his career and life.

Tony Hseih was 24, when he made $265 million selling his startup to Microsoft. He lived like a king and blew up all his money on parties, houses, cars and bad investments. He lost everything. One day with no money in his pockets, he was literally on the roads. That night he met a guy who told him about an idea of selling shoes online. Who buys shoes online???

A bankrupt Tony Hseih loved the idea, took a loan, and invested in the startup. They called it Zappos. Less than a decade later, Hseih sold the company for 1.2 billion dollars to Amazon. From $265 million to bankruptcy to $1.2 billion. He later wrote a book called Delivering Happiness and divided it into 3 chapters - Profits, Passion and Purpose. That is the sequence in which he discovered himself in life. Hseih proves that no money is not the end of life. It is a state of life from where the only way you go is up.

As a struggler, music director Naushad slept on the footpath opposite Broadway cinema. 16 years later he stood there for the premiere of his movie Baiju Bawara. Tears started flowing from his eyes as he saw the footpath that he slept on, from the other side. When asked why he was crying, a weeping Naushad said, "I can't believe it took me 16 years to cross this road." Persistence ultimately.  paid, even if it took 16 years.

Did these guys ever feel depressed? Probably they did. Did they cry over it? Yes. People cry when they fail. They feel anxious, lonely and sad. But did they continue to sit back and do nothing about it? They didn't. They picked up the pieces and stood up again. They refused to believe that because they failed now, they are destined to fail forever. They fought back hard until the time destiny could no longer influence their future. And because they did, they ended up writing their future the way they wanted it to be.

The point is life does not stop with failure. There is no successful person on earth who has not seen failure or been depressed about it. The journey to success begins with failure. Therefore they say, failure is the best teacher. Because it teaches you what not to do, so that you can focus on what to do.

Failure happens because each one of us are different, and life offers several opportunities for us to discover our personal formula of success. Which is why they say there is no magic formula for success. You have to earn it the hard way. Nobody else can do it for you. The problem is many of us are not ready for a long haul. We give up.

Happy Father's Day

One night a father overheard his son pray: Dear God, make me the kind of man my Daddy is.
Later that night, the father prayed, Dear God, make me the kind of man my son wants me to be.
The "quality" of a "father"
can be seen in the goals,
"dreams" and "aspirations"
he sets not only for himself,
but for his "family".
Happy Father's Day. 🙏

Great Albert Einstein Stories.

Great Albert Einstein Stories:

(1) One day during a speaking tour, Albert Einstein's driver, who often sat at the back of the hall during his lectures, remarked that he could probably give the lecture himself, having heard it so many times. Sure enough, at the next stop on the tour, Einstein and the driver switched places, with Einstein sitting at the back in his driver's uniform. Having delivered a flawless lecture, the driver was asked a difficult question by a member of the audience. "Well, the answer to that question is quite simple," he casually replied. "I bet my driver, sitting up at the back there, could answer it!"

(2)  Albert Einstein's wife often suggested that he dress more professionally when he headed off to work. "Why should I?" he would invariably argue. "Everyone knows me there." When the time came for Einstein to attend his first major conference, she begged him to dress up a bit. "Why should I?" said Einstein. "No one knows me there!"

(3) Albert Einstein was often asked to explain the general theory of relativity. "Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour," he once declared. "Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity!"

(4) When Albert Einstein was working in Princeton university, one day he was going back home he forgot his home address. The driver of the cab did not recognize him. Einstein asked the driver if he knows Einstein's home. The driver said "Who does not know Einstein's address? Everyone in Princeton knows.Do you want to meet him?. Einstein replied "I am Einstein. I forgot my home address, can you take me there? "The driver reached him to his home and did not even collect his fare from him.

(5) Einstein was once traveling from Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger. When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest pocket. He couldn't find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser pockets. It wasn't there, so he looked in his briefcase but couldn't find it. Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn't find it.

The conductor said, 'Dr. Einstein, I know who you are. We all know who you are. I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry about it.' Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the aisle punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees looking under his seat for his ticket.

The conductor rushed back and said, 'Dr. Einstein, Dr. Einstein, don't worry, I know who you are. No problem. You don't need a ticket. I'm sure you bought one.' Einstein looked at him and said, 'Young man, I too, know who I am. What I don't know is where I'm going.'

6) When Einstein met Charlie Chaplin:

Einstein said, "What I admire most about your art, is its universality. You do not say a word, and yet ... the world understands you."
“It's true,” replied Charlie Chaplin, "But your fame is even greater: The world admires you, when nobody understands you.

How to Stay Motivated. - Swami Vivekananda

A story by Swami Vivekananda :

How to stay motivated ?

In the jungle which animal is the biggest ........

I heard you say, Elephant.

In the jungle which animal is the tallest ........

I heard you say, Giraffe.

In the jungle which animal is the wisest ........

I heard you say, Fox.

In the jungle which animal is the fastest ........

I heard you say, Cheetahs.

Among all these wonderful qualities mentioned, where is the Lion in the picture.?

Yet, you say the Lion is the KING of the jungle even without ANY of these qualities.!!

Why??

Because...

The Lion is courageous,

The Lion is very bold,

The Lion is always ready to face any challenges, any barrier that crosses his path, no matter how big/bad they are.!!

The Lion walks with confidence. The Lion dares anything and is never afraid. The Lion believes he is unstoppable. The Lion is a risk taker. The Lion believes any animal is food for him. The Lion believes any opportunity is worth giving a try and never lets it slip from his hands. The Lion has charisma.!!

So...

- What is it that we get to learn from the Lion ??

• You don't need to be the fastest.

• You don't need to be the wisest.

• You don't need to be the smartest.

• You don't need to be the most brilliant.

• You don't need to be generally accepted to achieve your dreams and be great in life.!!

• All you need is courage

• All you need is boldness

• All you need is the will to try.

• All you need is the faith to believe it is possible.

• All you need is to believe in yourself, that you can do it.!!

It's TIME to bring out the Lion in you..!!

Stay motivated.

"Face the terrible, face it boldly"

Shayari
